Slowly becoming obsessed with giving our home another breath of fresh air. I first spotted Beth Hoeckel prints on my friend Naomi's blog and am now dreaming of the ones I once spotted at Behind the Monkey.
A sweet cup of good times
Only two years young One Sugar To Go is an art exhibition with a difference. A swagger of talented artists unleash their creativity on the humble takeaway coffee cup reworking them into unique pieces of art. Once destined for landfill, these everyday items are morphed into stunning pieces ready for auction. The night transforms into a wonderland of stage performers, good beats and an entertaining live auction. All proceeds are donated to the Leukaemia Foundation. One Sugar To Go was first launched in 2010 at Luxe's gorgeous outdoor amphitheatre bamBOO and 2011 saw the coffee cups spilling into The Bakery. Now the exhibition's curator is busy preparing for the third instalment ... it's set to be a good one.
ihart
Last November saw the ihart exhibition take over the Claremont Hotel and Grey Door raising funds for The Heart Foundation. This initiative is the brainchild of Xpress Magazines Art Director, Dwight O'Neil and Michael Prendiville. ihart soon became a labour of love and it was held with huge success. This year ihart has it's sights set high to help one special child from the Starlight Foundation make his/her dream come true! Ihart is currently seeking submissions of A2 prints from artists, designers, sculptors, painters, photographers and creatives. There are also secret mediums for secret artists so if you want to know more hit the boys up at ihartproject.com
All proceeds from the sale of all art will be donated to the Starlight Foundation.
